Bathing in near constant sunshine, Optimus Alive is a neat counterpoint to Britain's increasingly saturated (in every sense) festival season. Winning numerous industry awards, the team have managed to put in place a successful formula which attracts artists from around the globe while still retaining a local feel.

Now entering its eighth year, Optimus Alive has been forced to increase its capacity yet again with 50,000 souls set to descend upon the Portuguese festival. Little wonder, though, given its award-winning selection of artists and with the historic city of Lisbon acting as a backdrop. Set to play only a handful of shows this summer, re-united indie heroes The Libertines will headline this year's festival, but it's the electronic selection which truly stands out.
Nicolas Jaar is due to perform at the Portuguese event, joined by the likes of Pantha Du Prince (performing live), Midland, Diplo and more. Jamie xx will appear Optimus Alive, joined by a selection of his friends – given that this motley crew includes Dan Snaith (operating under his Daphni moniker) expect some true heavyweights…
