The Lake District is really pretty. But it never sounds so sweet as when Kendal Calling opens its gates…

When: Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd August
Where: Lowther Deer Park, Hackthorpe, The Lake District
Why Go: Let’s face it, it’d be pretty hard to convince some of the world’s finest DJs and idols to appear at your next house party. But Kendal Calling has this covered with a designated area, The Houseparty, where you can catch your favourite acts on the couch or trap Howard Marks in the kitchen.
Confirmed acts for 2014 include: Suede, Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls, De La Soul, Example, Mr Scruff, Tom Odell, Razorlight, Frightened Rabbit, Miles Kane, Zane Lowe, 2 Many DJs, Bondax and MJ Cole.

Over nine years, Kendal Calling has pulled off some pretty impressive feats. Alongside its award wins, in small- and medium-sized categories, organisers successfully rallied 867 festival-goers to go Superman and don capes, breaking a world record. Which is definitely something to be proud of.
Its Lake District setting has been host to a remarkable catalogue of talent over the years, with KC’s eight stages offering an array of artists for all to enjoy. Witness the finest electronic music pioneers at The Glow Tent, where 2ManyDJs will be let loose, and then head to Chai Wallah’s for some hearty hedonism with Craig Charles’ Funk & Soul Club.
You can buy tickets here. Or, enter Clash’s competition, below. We’ve got tickets to give away for Kendal Calling 2014, in pairs. The prize is just that: tickets only. No travel, no costs, no cake. Just so we’re clear. And this is for over-18s only, or our name isn’t up there, on the masthead.
