When the winter months set in, it’s easy to suffer from festival withdrawal symptoms. But Iceland Airwaves offers salvation, friends, from the no-fests blues. The five-day event has showcased the homegrown likes of Björk, FM Belfast, Sigur Rós and múm, while international talents like TV On The Radio, The Shins and Fatboy Slim have flown in for previous instalments. This year finds The Flaming Lips zorbing their way into audience hearts, providing the soundtrack to a stunning setting: waterfalls, lava fields, geysers and partying with punters and performers alike. Every facet of entertainment is covered.
