Try as they might, no bands quite come close to the vivid joy which ripples through Shonen Knife.
Speaking to ClashMusic last year the band accidentally delivered a mission statement. “I never feel boring. For me, time flies. I always look forward and I never look back” Naoka Yamano explained. “I don’t like serious music. I think music should be always fun and I want to make people happy through our music.”
Well, that might just be happening on the band's upcoming tour. Shonen Knife have outlined plans for a full nationwide jaunt, featuring some fantastic support acts.
For the Glasgow show BMX Bandits have agreed to share the stage, while Johnny Foreigner will hook up with the band in Birmingham.
ClashMusic have a pair of tickets for each show to give away. To stand a chance of winning, just pick which gig you want to go to and then answer the following question:
What is the name of Shonen Knife's hometown?
