Amidst confusion over their very existence, The Smashing Pumpkins have managed to release a concise, and – at times –snappy new album.
‘Monuments To An Elegy’ clocks in at just over 30 minutes, with little room to spare amongst its nine tracks. Reviewed by Clash’s own Mike Diver, the album gain 5/10 which, we suppose, is rather more than some of their recent detractors might have expected.
Lead cut ‘Being Beige’ is already a firm favourite with fans, and have now received the visual treatment. Looking meaningfully into the camera, Billy Corgan is half smothered in shadow – a moody return, you can watch it below.
