Forthcoming on Geographic...
Spinning Coin

Glasgow's underground scene is in rude health right now.

One of the dominating factors of the city's DIY community is that no two bands sound the same - each band has fostered its own ferociously independent identity.

Spinning Coin are a case in point. Uniting four vagabonds and wastrels, the band's sporadic live shows are all splintered riffs, electrical feedback, and barbs of melody.

The Pastels' own Stephen McRobbie is a fan, and has granted them safe harbour via Geographic - the imprint he runs with his Pastels' comrade Katrina Mitchell.

New single 'Albany' drops on April 15th, and it was seemingly prompted by the atmosphere surrounding the Scottish referendum.

'Albany' certainly captures the frustration, the optimism, the anger, and the energy that was in the Caledonian air during those debates, and pits this against scratchy indie pop that recalls those early Orange Juice singles.

Clash is able to premiere the accompanying visuals, and it's a beautiful hazy offering pieced together by Veronica Falls' Roxanne Clifford.

Tune in below.
