Scottish songwriter returns...
Rachel Sermanni

Rachel Sermanni is a brave and deeply independent talent.

Part of the Middle Of Nowhere Recordings crew, the songwriter's approach - stately, poetic, rooted in the traditional - has won widespread acclaim.

Recently touring across Europe with The Staves, the singer returned to her native Highlands to put the finishing touches on her second record.

'Tied To The Moon' will be released on July 10th, with Clash able to offer a preview. 'Tractor' is a bruised return, with the electric guitars clashing against Rachel's voice.

Hugely effective, the starkness of the arrangement is matched to the menace of the vocal. The accompanying visuals expand on the themes of the lyrics, with the songwriter commenting:

"Tractor. This video was made in a cellar beneath an old school in Rotterdam. Taking inspiration from Plato's Cave Allegory - a brilliant story about the pain of and aversion to truth. A small and focussed team, all of us directors: Rachel Sermanni, Robin Overschie, Annelinde Van Schie, Merel Van Den Enden and Michael Powell."
