Premiere: Indian Queens – ‘Us Against The World’

New Bella Union signings with that something special...

Hackney Wick is one of London's forgotten areas.

Part of East London's sprawling network of streets, warehouses, and council estates, it's within sight of the Olympic stadium but hasn't quite inherited its legacy.

New three-piece Indian Queens grew up in Hackney Wick, and have watched it change around them.

There's this feeling of finding beauty in the unexpected running through their music – too abrasive to be labelled dream pop, a remarkable fusion of the soothing and the shocking.

Snapped up by Bella Union, Indian Queens are currently preparing their debut single 'Us Against The World'.

The video returns them to London, and it's both simple yet curiously difficult to place. The band explain:

"We wanted to make a video that stops and observes the things that we might not ordinarily pause to notice. These are the moments where we discover something unexpected or beautiful, maybe both. An expansive, cinematic and perhaps dark window into our world and how we see it."

Check it out now.

'Us Against The World' will be released on November 18th. Catch Indian Queens at London venue the Sebright Arms on November 17th.
