Berlin-based Emika is a self-contained creative force.
Releasing two albums on revered imprint Ninja Tune, the composer then launched her own eponymous label.
New album 'Falling In Love With Sadness' is a defiantly independent gesture, and follows her grand 'Melanfonie' full length, recorded alongside the City Of Prague’s 50-piece Metropolitan Orchestra.
Out on October 10th - World Mental Health Day - a percentage of monies raised by the record will go to a British mental health charity.
Out shortly (pre-order LINK), it's led by daring new single 'Run', a blistering, always inventive return.
A mixture of club influences and stellar songwriting, 'Run' is dedicated to "those of us who are struggling to let love in..."
The visuals build on this, a startling, almost cinematic clip, with Emika offering the following introduction: "No matter how fast we run, the past will eventually catch up with us..."
Tune in now.
