Lyves Shares Pensive, Love-Lorn Video For ‘Faded’

Check it out now...

Lyves uses classic pop tropes to express something highly personal.

Recently supporting Coldplay on their European tour, being exposed to huge audiences each night has amplified her sense of ambition.

New single 'Faded' is one of her most potent documents yet, twisting and turning shimmering elements of 70s-leaning pop into something dramatic and new.

There's a faint sense of bittersweet to the new release, which is aligned to that emphatic arrangement.

Lyves comments: "It was an extraordinarily humbling experience, I had the opportunity to record with some of my favourite musicians in London. Every part on the record was played live and their playing felt so colourful and expanded my grasp of the music – inspiring my vocal performance and where I felt I could go. I felt like I got a glimpse into a new space musically. I would like to create more records in this live context."

The video for 'Faded' was shot by Roxy Rezvany, and it follows a young woman as she reflects on – or perhaps imagines – a recent love affair.

Emily Renée and Jules Chan star as the lovers, with Emily's humble, humane, and all-too-relatable performance helping to add an air of poignancy to the video.

Tune in now.
