Continuing grime's renaissance...

At one point, grime was almost entirely written off as a creative force.

Around 2006 and 2007, the grass shoots of recovery seemed to be obscured by MCs chasing big money and producers more interested in sculpting some serious UK Funky. Times were dark, but already there were signs that grime was simply resting, gathering its thoughts before planning its next move.

Merky ACE is only a few years younger than his contemporaries, but those extra years seem to make all the difference. The Lewisham based MC rolls with Family Tree, but recent solo full length 'All Or Nothing' was a blistering display of his skills.

Hooking up with rising producer Last Japan, 'Paid In Full' is ruff 'n' ready bass production, all tattered edges and 140 assault. Stripped from Last Japan's recent EP 'Darsk', the track has now been given the video treatment.

Simply shot, the clip for 'Paid In Full' focusses on Merky ACE' sheer bravado, his too-young-to-know-better spirit.

Watch it now.
