Girl Band Conjure An “Abstract World” On ‘Going Norway’

New album 'The Talkies' is incoming...

Girl Band have shared their new song 'Going Norway' – tune in now.

The Dublin band's new album 'The Talkies' will be released on September 27th, and it will be accompanied by a short burst of shows.

New song 'Going Norway' is a glimpse into an "abstract world" and it touches on some of the album's broader themes – the lack of pronouns, the fusion of surreal wordplay and caustic noise.

Out now, 'Going Norway' is accompanied by disorienting but gripping new video. Vocalist Dara Kiely comments on the track saying…

"'Going Norway' was actually one of the first tracks we finished but the melody actually comes from a track that I wrote about eight years ago."

"I saved that melody and brought it up when I didn’t have any ideas left, I was also doing a lot of mindfulness meditation around the time of it, so lyrically I decided not to use any pronouns within 'Going Norway' and the whole album – that came about when I came across this quote from the Buddha which was ’Nothing is to be clung to as I, me or mine’ – and I removed all that in a way to kind of find an abstract world to live in".

Tune in now.
