New Yorkers' new single, stripped back...

Clash has caught up with New York indie outfit Caveman for an exclusive live performance, recorded in what can only be described as an intimate environment.

Which means, basically, we can see up their noses.

The band – Jeff Berall, James Carbonetti, Sam Hopkins, Matthew Iwanusa and Stefan Marolachakis – has been active on its hometown scene for some time, and is now beginning the transition to a more international market. Which is exciting for everyone.

Having released an eponymous album on Fat Possum earlier this year – the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Coco Beware’ – they will issue the track ‘In The City’ as a single on August 4th.

And it’s that track we have here, albeit recorded in a rather more stripped-back style than heard on the studio cut. Which suits us just fine. Check out the performance above, and look for the single release of ‘In The City’ when it comes out in the UK on Communion.
