Elephant Stone’s ‘Hollow World’ Is A Real Trip

It's an Eastern-soaked psych-journey...

Montreal's sitar-powered space cadets Elephant Stone are back.

The band have pushed through five exceptional albums, matching psychedelic excursions to some Eastern inflections.

Sixth album 'Hollow' lands on February 14th, and it's a Valentine's Day treat for all those aural cosmonauts who linger on their path.

Led as ever by Rishi Dhir and that corp of audio wanderers, the record is a supple, expansive treat from a group who continually deliver lysergic excellence.

Take new cut 'Hollow World'. The first stopping off point for the new record, and it begins on an apocalyptic note, like Sgt. Pepper's gone sour…

The soul of mankind is dying. We have lost connection with each other and follow the false ego. It is a truly hollow existence. We fill this emptiness with more emptiness that the powers that be feed us.

We are destroying the planet without thought of how the next generation will have to pay for our crimes… Then… it all ends. A catastrophic event/moment decimates the earth. We go into panic mode…. Goodbye sunshine, hello dark skies, so long clean air, do you care?

The animated video picks up on this and so much more, delivering an effects-soaked glimpse into another realm, one that is worryingly close to our own.

Tune in now.
