Skanking piece of hip hop...
The Skints

Reggae has always played an enormous role in British life.

Imported direct from the Caribbean, the music helped soundsystem culture to shift the way in which British people viewed pop music. Try as they might, pop's futurists just can't seem to shift that skanking beat from the charts...

Which perhaps goes a long way to explaining how The Skints have become so successful. Capable of playing enormous shows across the country, their's is a word of mouth success story, one based on grit and determination rather than hype.

Of course, it helps that The Skints have their fair share of anthems. 'Out My Mind' rides a reggae beat, but with vocals that betray the influence of golden era hip-hop.

Speaking with rare clarity, the track moves between references to the weather and the economy, with it's gritty but hopeful tone shining through.

Set to be released on May 27th, the video for 'Out My Mind' is a cute reminder of the humour which ripples through The Skints.
