The Mispers

Police have their own slang.

A unique occupation, it requires a deeply idiosyncratic language to enable communication. So instead of 'missing person' - that grim phrase, used all too often - the police have coined the term 'misper'.

There's an odd poetry to the word. Adopting it as their own, London newcomers The Mispers seem to identify with the outsiders, with those shunted to the fringes.

Thus far, the band have played just seven - count 'em live shows, but each one has been a complete sell out. With their profile rapidly rising, the indie group are gearing up to release their debut single later this month.

'Coasts' impacts on October 21st, with Missing Til Monday stepping in to support the group. Produced by Duncan Mills (Peace, Jake Bugg) the track is already raising temperatures, with The Mispers tipped to dominate the tail end of 2013.

It's easy to see why. Opening with softly strummed acoustic chords, 'Coasts' builds and builds with dynamic, driving percussion lifting Joey Arnold's up into the heavens.

Listen to it now.

The Mispers are set to release 'Coasts' on October 21st. Catch the band at the following shows:

21 London Old Blue Last (Facebook event page)

19 London Madame JoJo's, White Heat (with Wild Club)
22 London Koko (Club NME)
