Richie Skint and Harvey Lee have known each other since they were kids.
Leaving school, the pair managed to blag boring day-to-day jobs, but whenever they were free the duo would talk about music.
Raised on a diet of classic soul – think Sam Cooke, Otis Redding – and groups like The Clash, the two set about meshing their influences into something cohesive.
Alibis is the result. Home recorded EP 'Home Truths' is a neat introduction to their charms, with the minimalist production allowing their nascent songwriting to come to the fore.
Out now as a free download, Clash is able to premiere a live acoustic version of 'Only Time'. A slowburning, soulful hymn, there's a slight crack in the vocals as emotions seep through, the reverb-drenched guitar in the background providing the perfect setting for those emotive lyrics.
