YAZ made her debut a matter of weeks ago, with her single ‘Mr Valentine’ becoming an emphatic viral moment.
Fusing club tropes with her slick pop approach, she seemed to speak to her peers in a language they could understand. A song about mishaps in love, and making mistakes, it matches the impeccable vocals of YAZ to some fantastic production elements.
Follow-up single ‘Anymore’ proves that it wasn’t a fluke. If anything, YAZ has raised her game – a sublime pop song, one deserving of chart status, linking her dulcet tones with raven breaks and liquid DNB production elements.
Out now, it’s crashed online with an explosive impact, allowing YAZ further space for expression. Stretching her expression, ‘Anymore’ flits between surging optimism and self-doubt, the production switching it up between those phases.
The full video is also online, and it features YAZ exploring the twilight streets of North London, emphasising both loneliness and communion.
Tune in now.
