Track Of The Day 8/2 – Fly Anakin

Mutant Academy rap aesthete Fly Anakin is ready to come-of-age. Debut solo record ‘Frank’ saw the Richmond artist emerging into the glare of the spotlight, received with rapturous reviews on both sides of the Atlantic.

A true scholar of the art, Fly Anakin is now plotting a pair of EPs, with the first – ‘Skinemaxxx’ EP – set to land on April 5th via Lex Records. New single ‘Outsidigans Anthem’ is a tour de force, with Fly riding multiple flows, switching it up like a jazz musician.

Displaying incredible complexity, the track also punches hard, the low-swinging production matching the the verbal bombshells. Indeed, there’s a light, almost R&B quality to the beat, produced by long-time collaborator Foisey.

Fly Anakin co-directs the full clip for ‘Outsidigans Anthem’, working alongside Matt Cowan to construct the video.
