The Mispers

Sometimes things just fall into place.

The Mispers only formed 18 months ago, but within two weeks of rehearsing the band's initial demos were causing a sensation online.

Tipped by Zane Lowe, the band then fought off competition from several labels to sign with B-Unique. Frontman Jack Balfour Scott explains: "They had a tip off about us so flew out to see the show. It was the same day they made an offer."

The reason for all this fuss? Songs, and plenty of them. The Mispers have a knack for producing choruses milkmen could whistle, housewives could sing whilst hoovering the front room - all while seeming perfectly fresh, utterly natural.

Second EP 'Dark Bits' drops on July 27th (pre-order HERE), and it finds the band rapidly blossoming. The title cut is already online, but Clash readers are lucky enough to be treated to something new.

'Rio' is as fresh and re-vitalising as the city which shares its name, matching a tidal wave of guitars to subtle orchestration. The drums race and chase with a real sense of venom, while the lyrics - desperate, forlorn, inspired, impassioned - draw you in.
