Belfast duo exmagician don't like to hem themselves in.
So the project is capable of moving into some unexpected realms. The songwriting partnership behind Cashier No. 9, the band released the David Holmes produced album 'To The Death Of Fun' in 2011.
Since then, the introduction of new kit has lead to a flurry of new ideas. Danny Todd describes their current sound as "like early Beefheart meets Add N To X" and that gives a decent indication as to how broad exmagician are setting their sights.
New album 'Scan The Blue' will be released via Bella Union on March 25th, with Clash able to premiere lead cut 'Job Done'.
Distorted psych with elements of shoegaze, it manages to absorb these influences while somehow retaining a ferocious sense of individuality.
