Track Of The Day 6/5 – Martha

1967, I Miss You, I'm Lonely

Martha hail from a place named Pity Me.

Soak in that locality for a second. Pity Me. Isn't that just one of the most heartbreakingly evocative names for a small town you can possibly imagine?

It helps then, that Martha produce the kind of sweet/sour, emo (when it meant something) noise-pop which can really soak down into your soul.

Signing to Fortuna POP! after a number of DIY releases, new album 'Courting Strong' is due to be released later this month.

Ahead of this, Clash can unveil the video for new track '1967, I Miss You, I'm Lonely'. Sung in strong North East accents, it's a down to earth tale of heartbreak with a nagging, contagious chorus.

Prepare to have this stuck in your head for the rest of the day…
