A new project for Jonathan Clancy from A Classic Education, His Clancyness is a name placed against a number of solo endeavours. Often home recorded, bordering on noise beneath the fuzz you can locate a songwriting sensibility which is steeped in pop lore.
Currently working on a new solo album, His Clancyness has outlined plans for a London show on November 10th. Supporting Lotus Plaza at Electrowerkz, the songwriter is set to unveil a host of new songs in front of curious fans before playing a rather more intimate headline set at the Rattlesnake on November 12th.
ClashMusic have been granted a quick preview. 'I Can't Talk About It' was initially recorded by El Perro Del Mar, but in the hands of His Clancyness becomes a smokey ode to 50s rock 'n' roll noir. Turning the original inside out, it demonstrates both Clany's ingenuity and the cheeky sense of humour which made his debut album so sought after.
