'Yadwigha's Theme'
Beaty Heart

Pop experi-mentalists, that's Beaty Heart.

When Clash first caught sight of the South London crew - around two years ago, in fact - the band's live sets were all amorphous electronics and wistful melodies blinking in a fog of noise.

Since then, Beaty Heart have shifted, evolved. There's a pop core to what they do, an accessibility which makes the Peckham crew so enticing.

For their latest trick, though, Beaty Heart have entered more subtle territory. Stripped from their debut album 'Mixed Blessings', new cut 'Yadwigha's Theme' opens with a subtle thumb piano sample.

Disappearing into a blizzard of whirred notes, the band then gently intone vocal harmonies as 'Yadwigha's Theme' drifts, evolves into something quite different.

Catch Beaty Heart performing at the Clash x Manchester magazine launch this Friday (March 7th) at St. Philip's Church.
