London riser Nate Brazier has travelled an extraordinary distance in a short space of time.
Debut tracks ‘Patterns’ and ‘Inertia’ have lit up DPSs, with fans struggling to find a way to define his sound. Both pan-genre and – in essence – genreless, Nate Brazier seems to thrive in existing in unknown spaces, fusing R&B, club tropes, and left-field electronica into an avant-pop package.
Gaining co-signs from the likes of Kojey Radical and J Rick, Nate Brazier goes deeper than most. Discussing his influences recently, he cited everyone from Arca to FKA twigs, Burial to Jai Paul, while refusing to be hemmed in both those sounds.
A sonic explorer, new song ‘Feels’ is perhaps his best yet, a precocious piece of ultra-challenging yet utterly direct music. There’s something about the song that feels unique to London – perhaps it’s the grit in the production, or maybe it’s the flair that he attacks this challenge with.
Nate Brazier comments…
“With ‘Feels’ I’m speaking on a certain undefinable synergy, like when you meet somebody and everything seems to fall into place. The verses acknowledge that modern culture profits off our insecurities – I wanted the chorus to feel like a euphoric antidote to that.”
