Track Of The Day 30/1 – Plant Plants

Mr. Organiser

London duo Plant Plants have an exacting, perfectionist touch.

Hidden away in their sonic lab, Howard Whatley and Stuart Francis are continually dreaming up new approaches, new ways to conjure up sound. 'Mr Organiser' is their latest statement.

Working with Simian Mobile Disco's Jas Shaw, the three track EP is another melding of analogue and digital, melody with technology.

Out on February 17th via This Is Music, the title cut received two, remarkably different, arrangements. Re-working the track themselves, Plant Plants seem to showcase both sides of their personality: the patient, diligent studio side and the blistering physicality of their live show.

The original studio cut is a dark, probing piece of music which recalls those influential early Mute cuts, all digital menace and antique synths before 'Mr. Organiser' kicks into a stark, angular take on a UK garage beat.
