Track Of The Day 28/5 – Saint Agnes

Old Bone Rattle

The patron saint of young girls, Saint Agnes was renowned for her purity, her chastity.

According to legend, unmarried girls should pray to Saint Agnes on the evening of January 20th/21st to uncover who their true love will be.

So it's a rather incongruous name for a dirty, sleazy, rock 'n' roll band. But then, Kitty Austen and Jon Tufnell probably wouldn't have it any other way.

Members of Lola Colt and Lost Souls Club respectively, the pair have collaborated on new single 'Old Bone Rattle'. A stomping, snarling piece of psych rock, there's an electricity running through the track, an indefinable chemistry which draws on the spirit of Jim Morrison.

Buoyed by heavy Hammond chords and scorching harmonica, you can listen to 'Old Bone Rattle' below.

'Old Bone Rattle' is due to be released on June 10th. Saint Agnes will play the following shows:

May
31 London The Jazz Café (Camden Rocks)

June
10 London Sebright Arms (‘Old Bone Rattle’ Single Launch)
24 London The Old Blue Last w/Blossoms

July
18 London Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen w/Black Market Karma
