Track Of The Day 28/3 – Hannah Georgas

'This Too Shall Pass'

Hannah Georgas is ready to resume. The songwriter’s wonderful 2020 album ‘All That Emotion’ scored massive acclaim, sculpted alongside the revered studio figure of Aaron Dessner. Since then, though, she’s taken a step back – finding space to probe her own intentions, and reconfigure her ambitions.

A new album has been sculpted, exemplifying a new sound, crafted alongside a fresh cast. Due to be released on Real King Records – run by Lucy Rose, no less – it’s all led by gorgeous new single ‘This Too Shall Pass’.

There’s a feeling of being crafted, being endlessly finessed, within Hannah’s work – a true artisan, nothing leaves her studio until she’s completely comfortable within it. ‘This Too Shall Pass’ is an “internal pep talk” as she puts it, a means for Hannah Georgas to move pass her insecurities.

It’s a sign of renewed confidence, placed within a sonic landscape that feels fresh, distinct, and wholly new. She comments:

“I have a lot of internal pep talks, as a way to quiet my own doubts and insecurities. This song is a reflection of that, and a reminder to go a little bit easier on myself.”

The single is out now, accompanied by a Joe Connor directed video, shot in London.

Tune in now.
