Amsterdam is one of Europe's creative hubs.

A harbour city, the area has always embraced new culture, fresh influences, resulting in one of the continent's most fertile dance scenes.

It's this chilled out nature that attracted Hackney-born artist Szjerdene. Based in Amsterdam, her supple vocals and soulful inflections have caught the attention of collaborators such as Bonobo and Lapalux.

The singer's own material is rapidly blossoming, achieving new levels of confidence, new layers of depth. New cut 'Faded' airs on Clash, and it's a beautifully fragile electronic hymnal.

Szjerdene explains: "'Faded' marks a journey of removing yourself from a situation that’s no longer any good for you. That sober realisation that you feel towards something once the smoke and mirrors have been packed away - A tale of ‘better never, than late.’"

Check it out now.

'Faded' will be released on September 11th.
