Andy Butler knows a thing or two about house music.
House music rescued him from tough times growing up in Denver, Colorado. Becoming a source of solace and inspiration, he journeyed to the clubs of New Jersey and New York where he made a new home for himself.
Continuing to fight the cause, the producer recently resurrected his sought after solo EP 'You Can Shine'. Out on June 29th, the package contains a number of freshly minted remixes hand-picked by Andy Butler himself.
“I'm happy to share these dubbed out interpretations by some admired DJs & friends. Arttu, one of my favourite producers who walks the line between house & techno delivers a tough, signature techno funk sound. Dan Beaumont and Luke Solomon are two UK champs that bring out the disco. Rounding out the package are reigning royalty in NYC clubland and good friends of myself and vocalist/cowriter Richard Kennedy – The Carry Nation who give a DJ Pierre style interpretation. Enjoy.”
Clash is able to premiere Arttu's take on 'You Can Shine'. A sultry, soulful re-dub which features shards of techno's mechanical glee, you can check it out below.
