Dirty, rotten scoundrels, that's Wet Nuns.
The Sheffield duo write songs about the important things in life – which they define as "women, death and beer" – wrapping their slowed down, sludgy riffs around some truly demented vocals.
The blues reconfigured by cavemen, each track from Wet Nuns has a bone crushing intensity which is matched to a goofy, surreal and uniquely Northern wit. Fresh from the success of hosting their own festival, the band are now preparing for the release of their debut album.
Self-titled and due out in October, Wet Nuns will trail their debut full length with upcoming single 'Hanging'. Opening with a cut up, choppy riff which borders on being labelled 'angular' the track then disintegrates into libidinous noise, a noisy squall on a par with the desert blues of Kyuss.
It's filthy, fun and leaves you feeling a little dirty. But then, what's wrong with that? Listen to it now.
Wet Nuns are set to release 'Hanging' on September 15th, followed by their debut album on October 7th. Catch the band performing live at the following UK dates:
