Track Of The Day 21/2 – Tamera

Tamera is finding her own voice. The London talent is steeped in vintage R&B, but she’s able to graft those Millennial tropes on to the club culture sounds she knows intimately. Gradually easing aspects of her West African heritage into this approach, too, it’s clear that Tamera is operating in a singular lane.

Recent cuts such as ‘Insensitive’ marked out her name, but new single ‘Frozen’ seems to exemplify why fans find her so exciting.

A potent and atmospheric piece of left-field soul, she blends dynamic melodies with the incredible ability to communicate. An excellent performer, Tamera speaks from the heart, and she’s unafraid to show different aspects of her personality at the same time.

‘Frozen’ is about embracing the contradiction, with Tamera moving between passion and insecurity. She comments:

“’Frozen’ is a special song forged from two extreme emotions. One being love & the other being anxiety. It’s about a love that feels so much like home it makes the outside world seem like a daunting place to be.”

Deluxe R&B with a distinctly British flavour, Tamera links up with producer Majid to craft her most potent work yet.
