Laura Doggett's music is – on the surface – glistening, inviting.
Underneath, though, dark currents lie, with the singer able to suggest something intoxicating yet also quite, quite deadly.
New EP 'Into The Glass' arrives on May 10th, another demonstration of the singer's blossoming ambition. Four tracks of austere, affecting pop music delivered with no small trace of emotion, it's a highly charged document.
Ahead of this, Clash is able to premiere the video for 'Night Girl'. Featuring guest vocals from Alice Jemima, the track revolves around a circular acoustic guitar pattern.
There are traces of the gothic, with the two vocal lines weaving in and out of one another. Gently seductive, there's nonetheless the lingering trace of threat, of danger.
