The Cribs have been re-invigorated.
The Jarman brothers may not have lacked energy, exactly, but recent album 'For All My Sisters' seemed to hark back to those early recordings, betraying a freshness, a directness which was most welcome.
Breezing into the Great Escape, The Cribs played a sensational set at the VEVO Stage. Sure, focus may have fallen on their new record but the band pulled out all the stops – including a handful of rarities, especially for the fans.
Shot in sumptuous colour, Clash has been handed a special clip from the show. 'Pink Snow' is one of the more down beat, sharply melodic moments on 'For All My Sisters', but in this live performance The Cribs exhibit an unrelenting, almost punk, edge.
Check it out now.
On a related note… The Cribs' new single 'Different Angle' is out this week – track it down at all good record shops.
