dexter seems able to conjure pop magic at will. The 19 year old South Londoner didn’t even have equipment at first, uploading iPhone sketches and letting her audience gather.
Working in a pure, unfiltered fashion, she’s able to re-contextualise club tropes in a pop fashion, expanding her lexicon with each passing release. Gathering a myriad of production flavours, she eventually upgraded to a MacBook and a basic vocal mic, and steered her debut EP ‘I Do Love A Good Sandwich’ to viral acclaim.
Performing alongside Denzel Curry and supporting Fred again…, dexter has honed her skills, finessed her talents, and built a dogged fan army with her Crazy Silly Party events.
New single ‘Vexed’ finds dexter returning to the fore, and it’s a deft pop bubbler. The beat leans on DNB, with the ravey breaks underpinning a stunning vocal from the 19 year old.
A blast of sheer inspiration, ‘Vexed’ walks a singular path, with dexter’s idiosyncratic creativity resulting in something bold, colourful, and original.
