Lawrence Rothman couldn't fail to be seduced by the iconography of Los Angeles.
After all, it's his home town. The songwriter grew up amidst its urban sprawl, it's faded glamour and fusion of glitzy riches and desperate poverty.
The city's atmosphere is always there in his music, and nowhere is this more evident than in new cut 'H'. It's a wonderfully gauche track, the languid arrangement pitted against an engrossing vocal from the Los Angelino.
Packed with drama and melancholy, 'H' comes equipped with some special visuals. LA based dance troupe WIFE take part, and it's a curiously surreal expansion of Lawrence Rothman's songwriting world.
