One of the most distinctive musicians working in bass music today, Swindle is like no one else around.
Matching grime's shattered beats against a fondness for jazz, the London musician is able to connect disparate genres and – crucially – make the whole thing work in an effortlessly infectious manner.
The producer's debut album 'Long Live The Jazz' dropped last year, with Swindle also playing keys in Mala's acclaimed Cuban project. Returning to the studio, the producer has completed a new release which is set to gain a co-release through Brownswood and Deep Medi.
It's a concise return. The download is scheduled for release on October 20th, with Clash able to premiere new track 'Summer Fruits'.
Sitting at 140 BPM, Swindle's grime roots are clear to see. Yet the complex percussion adds plenty of blissful syncopation, while the horn samples has a light, summer feel.
A track driven by contradiction, the manner in which Swindle brings 'Summer Fruits' together as a singular, coherent document is yet another demonstration – if any were needed – that his is a truly special talent.
