'Birdstar (A1558 Nov 92B.1)'

Despite their roots extending much further, 'Dubnobasswithmyheadman' is the point where Underworld become, well, Underworld.

Remaining a thrilling listen, it's the moment when the freshly expanded trio turned rave into an album phenomenon.

Fusing dub, electronics, house and techno into one imposing brew, 'Dubnobasswithmyheadman' will be given an expansive re-issue on October 6th. (pre-order link)

A plethora of extras and additions have been lined up, with Underworld freely raiding their archive to obtain bonus material.

Notching up five discs, Underworld shine renewed light on those inspiring sessions in the summer of 1994.

Out on October 6th (pre-order link), Clash has a very special preview. 'Birdstar (A1558 Nov 92B.1)' is all rave atmospherics and bizarre soundscapes, with the trio pushing their sound into fresh, expansive directions.

It's the sound of ground being broken. Never given an official release, Underworld would re-use elements of 'Birdstar (A1558 Nov 92B.1)' in later work, including remixes for the likes of Bjork.

But the full piece remains addictive. Check it out now.
