Track Of The Day 10/9 – Masakichi

'Spring' (alt-J remix)

Summer is beginning to fade, it's a time to remove yourself from the outdoors and look inward.

Masakichi seem to thrive on this shift towards introversion, with the London group's supple songwriting carrying an emotional quality.

Set to release a mini-album on September 18th, the band have shared new cut 'Spring'. A beautifully spectral piece of music, singer Hannah Cartwright states that 'Spring' is "intended as a rallying cry. It is meant to give hope because no matter what life throws at you, or how hard it gets, you will still always have the capacity to love."

Thom Green from alt-J is evidently an admirer, with the producer stepping in to give the track on overhaul.

A powerful remix ploughing emotive depths and percussive dexterity, you can check out some accompanying visuals below before downloading the track via a handy widget.
