Track Of The Day 1/6 – Silvana Estrada

'Milagro y Desastre'

Silvana Estrada may be a relatively new name, but her music contains a striking beauty. Debut album ‘Marchita’ won enormous plaudits on its release last year, a work of powerful autobiography that illustrious technical ability.

A supremely gifted singer, she followed this with her cover of Suzanne Vega’s ‘Tom’s Diner’ – released last month – before returning with something new.

Out now, ‘Milagro y Desastre’ is a gorgeous listen, a song that transports you to another realm. A fine solo feast, it was constructed alongside her longtime collaborator Gustavo Guerrero, and it aims to find a form of balance in the world.

“This song was born out of my belief that big life-changing events are equal parts miracle and disaster”,
she explains. “This idea has helped me a lot to understand and heal my experiences over the years. In this song I wanted to vindicate all the faces of love, even the love that hurts when it ends”.

Camila Grandi directs the video, and it’s a sumptuous watch – tune in now.

Tune in now.
