Every so often an album, a band will come along which the Clash team just can't place.
Shambling out of Glasgow with a collection of rickety laptops, broken synths and wonky melodies, Conquering Animal Sound are most definitely difficult to place.
New album 'On Floating Bodies' emerged earlier this year, the melodies seeming to seep out of the wires, plugs contained therein. Brimming with joyous invention, there's an impish sense of humour amidst the abstraction which can't help but bring a smile to your face.
Throwing themselves open to new possibilities, the band recently agreed to take part in a new remix project. Released on Hobbes Music, a new EP finds Conquering Animal Sound get remixed by the likes of Auntie Flo, Optimo and more.
Signalling plans for a continental tour, it seems that the Glasgow collective's insidious, subtle, supple music might find a wider audience after all.
With that in mind, ClashMusic have been allowed to bring you a quick preview. Taken from 'On Floating Bodies' new track 'Warn Me' is one of the band's most melodic, direct statements yet.
All liquid synths and billowing electronics, this is dark, brooding pop music with a left field slant.
Listen to it now…
