Vinyl Album Sales Rise 56% In 2015

...and guess who's at number one

The vinyl revival has been one of the main post-Millennial talking points, a rare shard of bright light in a sometimes bleak economic landscape for the music world.

The Official Chart Company has been keeping tabs on this year's releases, and reports that vinyl album sales in 2015 have risen by some 56%.

It's another sign of the demand for vinyl, and – if this increase continues – total sales could hit more than two million in 2015.

The list of best selling albums matches iconic acts with new releases from big hitters. Led Zeppelin have two re-issues in the Top Ten, while Royal Blood's debut lingers at number four.

Out in the top spot, though, is Noel Gallagher with new album 'Chasing Yesterday'. Blur, though, could yet snatch Noel's crown – the band's new album 'The Magic Whip' sits in fifth place despite only being on sale for two months.
