The Divine Comedy Add November Tour Dates

With new single approaching

Witty Irish indie poppers The Divine Comedy have added a host of November tour dates to their schedule.

The Divine Comedy are one of the most under-rated acts in the country. A series of hit singles saw the Irish group reach widespread acclaim, but their quirky videos and witty lyrics have seen them written off as a novelty group.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Returning with new album ‘Bang Goes The Knighthood’ the band are on ferocious form, mixing crunching indie rock riffs with toe tapping Motown references.

Lead single ‘At The Indie Disco’ was a frequently hilarious assessment of dingy Thursday nights listening to The Smiths, all put together with a wonderful observational eye.

Announcing a summer of live shows, songwriter Neil Hannon stopped off by the Ivor Novellos to pick up an award for his side project. Inspired by cricket, The Duckworth Lewis Method have enjoyed widespread acclaim.

However the Irish singer will be focussing on The Divine Comedy throughout the summer. New single ‘I Like’ is a refreshing return, with the lilting 60s pop hit due to be released through Divine Comedy Records on August 1st.

Following this, The Divine Comedy will hit the road for a November tour. Opening in Newcastle on November 1st, the tour will see the band travel across the country for some fourteen shows in just eighteen days.

The tour is brought to an end on November 17th in Warwick Arts Centre, while tickets for the shows are on sale now. Meanwhile, the band have confirmed a series of festival appearances including Scotland’s hidden gem Belladrum.

The Divine Comedy are due to play the following shows:
