Sons and Daughters – Darling

...like Garbage covering Fleetwood Mac

The second single from the third Sons & Daughters album opens with a stylishly jagged guitar riff before bursting to the life with bounding beats and what could be the bass line to Lust For Life.

It’s Sons & Daughters all right but with a fresh sheen of pop melodies and dangerously sweet vocals, so it sounds like Garbage covering Fleetwood Mac. Where once they sang about murder in grotty council flats, now they are referencing swinging 60’s glamour movies. You might miss their familiar grit but if anyone is going to add glitz to the blues, they can.
