Nimmo Share Dazzling ‘East End Streets’ Video

Plus, check out this Q&A with the party-starting London duo...

London duo Nimmo apply an exacting sense of creativity to everything they do.

New EP 'Songs From The Credits' lands on November 23rd, and it's a daring, stylish return, impeccable electronic pop that nods towards club culture.

Featuring Maya Jane Coles collaboration ‘Orange Skies’ and the storming single ‘It’s Easier’, it's a bold, defiant, and ambitious statement from the pairing.

New track 'East End Streets' is the final preview to emerge from the EP, with the sparse arrangement fusing fractal electronics with tense string samples.

Those interlocking vocals are absolutely beautiful, with Nimmo also shooting a simple-yet-stylish video for 'East End Streets'.

Set to host a special part at London's House Of Vans on November 30th, it closes a stellar year for the chic duo.

How do you go about conceptualising / creating a party?

We have definitely learnt over the last few years from partying in all different weird kinds of places that the most important thing is the company. After that definitely comes the spirit/ethos of party which for us has always been about not wanting to do it for capital gain, making it focused on the music and people being able to express themselves.

We used to throw free parties in our studio and I spent days one Christmas sewing up all these stockings for. Which we then hung all over the walls and filled with prezzies (and some essential party treats haha!) These experiences focused us on making a) the show free b) billing as many talented friends and women as possible and c) collaborating with people who understand you and you wholly share a vision with; the team at Vans.

How did you create the line up for this event?

We were already frustrated about how male dominated the music industry is and as we spend a lot of our time going out to clubs we’ve always noticed it specially in the dance world. Some women on the line up are people we are lucky to call our fiends others are people we have just admired. we decided to bring them all together under one roof to celebrate them.

You've had a busy 2018, how does it feel to end it with a party alongside some close friends?

It feels amazing. This is the kind of party we have dreamed about doing and we are so so blown away that Vans have given us the reigns to do so.

What is 2019 set to bring you?

We start releasing music again in January which is very exciting! We also have some more touring to announce in the New Year too.

Finally, what can you tell us about this video?

This is the final moment you see Reva and I sat on our beloved bench. Our Ep ‘Songs From The Credits’ was born out of making sense of some pretty mad experiences. The bench represents those hard/liberating moments of reflection. The track is about the junctions we faced in relation to our mental health during that year and the battles between feeling a crazed strength to run around and lose yourself whilst also being totally aware of its short comings.

Like ‘Orange Skies’ in this video we look backwards, PE kits and our old football trophies cased behind us with projections that mix weird animation, stock footage, old music videos, phone videos of us out during that year. It’s a little flash of what being at those junctions in our heads felt like.
