Nicki Minaj And Ice Spice Join Forces On ‘Barbie World’

A rap rework of Aqua's iconic original....

Nicki Minaj and her protégé – the rap sensation of the moment Ice Spice – have teamed up for a rework of Aqua’s saccharine 1997 classic ‘Barbie Girl’.

‘Barbie World’ is duo’s second collaboration after ‘Princess Diana‘, released earlier this year. Its pink-hued allusions to bubblegum pop and fashion doll iconography has long been explored by Minaj in her work; the RIOTUSA-produced number sees the Trinidadian-born rapper exchange bars about frivolous excess and decadence with Ice Spice.

‘Barbie World’ was first teased at the end of the Barbie trailer and is the fourth single from Barbie the Album, following Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night“. The star-studded soundtrack which features Lizzo, Charli XCX, Ava Max, Dominic Fike, Khalid, The Kid LAROI, Tame Impala, HAIM and more, is out with the movie on July 21st.

The song comes accompanied with a eye-popping visual directed by Hannah Lux Davis.
