Kate Moss Destroys Kills Album

Model destroys new material

British supermodel Kate Moss has accidentally destroyed the demos to the new album by The Kills.

The Kills emerged in 2003 with their debut album ‘Keep On Your Mean Side’. Clad in black, the duo’s live shows featured stabbing blues driven riffs punctuated by singer Alison Mosshart’s driven vocals.

Mean and moody, the band quickly developed a cult following. Refusing to do interviews The Kills maintained an air of mystery, with the band even refusing to tell fans their real identities – using the names VV and Hotel.

Since then, however, the band have mellowed somewhat. Last year’s album ‘Midnight Boom’ featured slightly more shades of grey, while guitarist Hotel unmasked himself as Jamie Hince and began dating Kate Moss.

The two don’t appear to be a match made in heaven. According to British tabloid The Daily Mirror the couple were arguing while on holiday, when Kate Moss grabbed her boyfriend’s bag and flung it into a nearby swimming pool.

The bag contained master tapes for six new tracks by The Kills. According to witnesses, Jamie Hince immediately dived into the pool to salvage the songs, but his efforts were in vain as the tapes are un-playable.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that The Kills have featured in the tabloids. Singer Alison Mosshart is now part of The Dead Weather, the new group formed by Jack White.

Featuring members of The Greenhornes and Queens Of The Stone Age, the band are one of the most talked about on the planet. Tabloid reports stated that Mosshart had fought with Jack White in New York after a heavy drinking session.

However the band furiously denied the claims, stating that the incident had never happened. So worried fans of The Kills take note: tabloids sometimes get it wrong, and their new album may not be lying at the bottom of a pool somewhere.

One thing that is for definite is that The Kills re-released their debut album ‘Keep On Your Mean Side’ earlier this year. Re-tooled with a host of extras the record remains the band’s most primitive to date.

The Kills expanded version of ‘Keep On Your Mean Side’ is available now.
