Fatboy Slim Admitted To Rehab

Norman Cook battling alcoholism

Big beat legend and superstar DJ Fatboy Slim has checked into rehab in southern England to battle a longstanding alcohol addiction.

Norman Cook returned this week with the debut album by his new project Brighton Port Authority. Containing a multitude of guest stars including Iggy Pop, David Byrne, Dizzee Rascal and more the album ‘I Think We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat’ is much more than the sum of its considerable parts.

According to British red top The Sun the producer checked into a clinic on Monday (March 2nd). Manager Gary Blackburn revealed the DJ had been battling the addiction for “some time”.

The Sun then quotes an anonymous source which claims that “Norman decided that the only way to kick his booze addiction for good was to check himself into a clinic.”

Norman Cook began life as the bass player with indie quartet The Housemartins. After turning his back on guitar music he embraced the dance world, participating in a number of projects before striking out on his own as Fatboy Slim.

Last year the producer celebrated the 10th anniversary of his best selling album ‘You’ve Come A Long Way Baby’.
