Ennio Morricone Confirms One Off Date

Famed composer comes to London

Famed film composer Ennio Morricone has confirmed a very special one off date in London later this year.

Born in Italy, Ennio Morricone is one of the most important film composers of all time. In an era when cinema as a whole was at a low ebb, the Italian musician emerged as a singular and hugely influential talent.

Beginning with a series of low budget films in his homeland Ennio Morricone was later drawn into the Spaghetti Western craze. In a series of collaborations with Sergio Leone the composer made his name as a deeply inventive artist.

Films such as ‘A Fistful Of Dollars’ made his name, with Ennio Morricone’s work becoming familiar to millions across the globe. Now iconic, his Western themes have entered pop culture and are themselves referenced by directors such as Quentin Tarentino.

However Morricone continued to work throughout cinema. Later turning towards emerging electronic and disco styles, the Italian composer produced the score to ‘Once Upon A Time In America’ before working on John Carpenter’s epic horror ‘The Thing’.

Still earning acclaim for his work, the Academy Award winning composer recently scored the Brian De Palm film ‘Fateless’.

Now Ennio Morricone has confirmed a rare London appearance as part of the ‘Don’t Look Back’ concert series. The legendary composer will perform a series of works from throughout his career as part of the celebrations for the 5th anniversary of the concert series.

Due to take place in April the composer will be joined by a 100 piece orchestra and a 100 strong choir from Crouch End Festival Chorus.

Ennio Morricone is due to play the following London show:

10 London Royal Albert Hall
