Come Play With Me Singles Club Launched

Leeds based imprint emerges...

Leeds has long been a hub for excellent music, with the city's scene continually coughing up all manner of gems.

Now new label Come Play With Me aims to shine a light on the area with a singles club venture. Due to be an ongoing series, the singles club will launch with a split seven inch featuring material from Katie Harkin (of Sky Larkin renown) under her Harkin alias.

On the flip, fans can find something new from Cinerama which is, of course, David Gedge of The Wedding Present's other project.

Due out on November 6th, David Gedge commented: “Having been born in Leeds the city is always going to have a special place in my heart even without its rich musical heritage. When Cinerama were invited to contribute to the singles club I was keen to be involved, especially since we're going to be on the first release. If I'm honest it's also very flattering that the club is named after one of The Wedding Present's 'Hit Parade' singles, even though I stole the title myself from a 70s soft porn film! Maybe that's the cyclical nature of pop culture! Anyway…it's great to be releasing something alongside our friend Harkin.”

Check out Harkin's track 'National Anthem Of Nowhere' below.

Come Play With Me is set to host a special event at Sheaf Street Studios in Leeds on Thursday 24th September, featuring David Gedge and Sam Beer-Pearce, Post War Glamour Girls and Deadwall.
